DYK Tanks . . . designed to withstand even the most severe earthquakes

One of the most desirable features of a prestressed concrete storage tank is the inherent ability to withstand seismic forces. Many DYK tanks have been subjected to substantial earthquakes such as the 1971 San Fernando Valley, 1989 Loma Prieta, 1994 Northridge, and 2001 Washington State earthquakes and no DYK tank has ever suffered any significant seismic structural distress even at close proximity to the epicenter.

DYK- Prestressed Concrete Tanks

The design of a DYK prestressed concrete tank considers both vertical and horizontal accelerations, the sloshing of water, and overturning moments. Special seismic cables are designed to comfortably control the lateral seismic forces, while allowing free movement of the wall under normal tank loads.

The successful performance of DYK strand-wrapped, prestressed concrete storage tanks is unmatched by any other tank. During the past 40 years, DYK tanks have withstood the test of time!
